Chris Munns, a Londoner who escaped the capital to live by the sea, has been writing limericks – primarily for fun – for several years. Now, with countries around the world experiencing ‘lockdown’ due to the global Covid-19 Coronavirus pandemic, Chris has decided to do his bit to try and raise spirits during this stressful time by publishing a number of his limericks – old and new – online, here at ldnlimericks.uk.
Why limericks you may ask? Well, as an M.E. sufferer, helping out physically during the current crisis was never going to be a possibility for Chris, while the alternative entertainment proposal of him attempting to sing and/or play a musical instrument in public is an experience nobody should ever be subjected to! (You may – or may not – find Chris’ limericks amusing, but at least your ears will be safe…)
Anyone reading this is welcome to request a limerick of their own. Or perhaps you’d like to spread some cheer and request a limerick for a family member or friend? Just fill in the form on the ‘Request Limerick’ page and Chris will get to work writing a brand new limerick which will then be published on this website alongside an individual dedication. And, if you want to make your limerick even more personal (or just set Chris a more difficult challenge!) you can choose 1-2 specific words to be included in the finished work.
When not writing nonsense poetry, Chris can often be found watching local sport, staring at windmills, admiring butterflies or talking to random cats he meets while out and about!
